Breaking Barriers in AP Calculus

Breaking Barriers in AP Calculus is a weekly small-group support program for girls currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB. Designed and taught by Megan Fitzwater, founder of All Girls’ Prep and an experienced math and physics educator, the program is structured like a dedicated AP Calculus office hour, giving students a consistent place to ask questions, work through difficult concepts, prepare for upcoming tests, and get support with what they’re learning in class.

Students are encouraged to bring questions and problems directly from their AP Calculus courses, while Megan will also provide targeted concept review, additional practice, and AP-style problems based on what the group needs most. Students receive access to session recordings and a discussion board, giving them additional opportunities to learn and get support outside of the live group sessions.

Most importantly, Breaking Barriers gives girls a space to tackle a challenging high school math course alongside other students who are working through the same material. We want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, learning from one another, and building the confidence that comes from realizing they are fully capable of succeeding in AP Calculus.
